In this video you’ll learn how to virtually turn your guitar into a ukulele.

This is super useful for:
– If you don’t own a ukulele yet, but plan on or are considering buying one.
– Understanding how to transfer songs you learn from guitar to uke.
– Learning smarter not harder. If you’re learning a new instrument you might aswell translate as much knowledge as possible from the first instrument, especially in the case of guitar to uke where there is lots of similarities.

Here’s the magic trick that blew my mind when a friend taught it to me recently…

When you place a capo on the 5th fret of your guitar the bottom 4 strings match the notes of your 4 open ukulele strings – G,C,E,A.

The only difference you have to keep in mind is that the D string is actually an octave higher on the ukulele (just to make things slightly dicey!)

With this new found knowledge you can start learning the ukulele before you even own one.

So why learn the ukulele in the first place?

– Ukulele a lot like a guitar but many times more portable. We’ve all experienced those occasions where we plan to take our guitar on a road trip only to realise there isn’t enough room in the car. You can always fit a uke!

– Ukuleles are cheap. For under $100 you can get yourself a very decent ukulele that will stay in tune and sound great.

– If you’ve ever complained about big and awkward chords are then the uke may become your new best buddy, or atleast help you work your way up to being more confident playing the guitar.

– Quite simply because it’s fun to mix it up and play a different instrument. Given the small effort needed to learn the uke after playing guitar, it’s a great way to double the amount of instruments you can play.

Take the next step
If you want to go the next step I’d love to teach you the essential major and minor chords you need to know on the ukulele.

I’ll also teach you a more advanced method for transferring any chord from guitar to ukulele completely on the fly – no reference sheets needed!

While I’m deciding how much to charge for the training I’m making it available to my subscribers for completely free.

I may decide this was a bad idea come the weekend, so register for the training now.

“Groove Is in the Heart” is a song by American dance band Deee-Lite. It was released in August 1990 as the lead single from their debut album, World Clique. The song was a hit in many countries, reaching number one in Australia.

Though the album version was not recorded until 1990, the song was originally written in the late 1980s; it was performed live as early as 1989.

The backing track was built around many samples, primarily the main riff from Herbie Hancock’s track “Bring Down the Birds” from the Blowup soundtrack and Vernon Burch’s “Get Up”, which provided the drum track and also formed the basis for the famous breakdown featuring a slide whistle. Parliament-Funkadelic legend Bootsy Collins provided guest vocals, and the rap is provided by Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest.

What’s your all time favourite Stevie Ray Vaughan lick of all time?

Here’s mine, it’s from his rendition of Mary Had A Little Lamb… actually it was originally bluesified by Buddy Guy so you could consider it a cover of a cover.

The lick uses the E Minor Penatatonic scale and is played in the 12th position (1st finger of 12th fret).
The prerequisite technique for playing lick comfortably is a good gasp of pull offs.

The lick can be considered easy, but like all things blues, its not simply about playing the right notes, its about playing with the right inflections and attitude.

Stevie’s highly sought after strat tone can be heard here in a big way.

The track can be found of Stevie’s 1983 album Texas flood.

“Stand by Me” is a song, originally performed by American singer-songwriter Ben E. King, and written by King, Jerry Leiber, and Mike Stoller. According to King, the title is derived from, and was inspired by, a spiritual written by Sam Cooke and J. W. Alexander called “Stand by Me Father,” recorded by the Soul Stirrers with Johnnie Taylor singing lead.

The third line of the second verse of the former work derives from Psalms 46:2c. There have been over 400 recorded versions of the song, performed by many artists. It was featured on the soundtrack of the 1986 film Stand by Me, and a corresponding music video was released to promote the film.

In 2012, it was estimated that the song’s royalties had topped £17 million, making it the sixth highest earning song as of that time. 50% of the royalties were paid to King.

“Perfect” was the first track Sheeran wrote for his third studio album. The song is a romantic ballad written about his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, whom he knew from school and reconnected with when she was working in New York.

Sheeran revealed that the inspiration for the lyrics came after visiting James Blunt’s house in Ibiza, where the two singers had listened to the rapper Future’s music at six in the morning.

He said: “Barefoot on the grass, dancing to our favorite song, which happened to be Future’s “March Madness”… I booked the studio for the day, and I had that and I was like, right, let me just flesh that out. And the song happened and was sort of finished that day. I knew it was special.”
