“Groove Is in the Heart” is a song by American dance band Deee-Lite. It was released in August 1990 as the lead single from their debut album, World Clique. The song was a hit in many countries, reaching number one in Australia.

Though the album version was not recorded until 1990, the song was originally written in the late 1980s; it was performed live as early as 1989.

The backing track was built around many samples, primarily the main riff from Herbie Hancock’s track “Bring Down the Birds” from the Blowup soundtrack and Vernon Burch’s “Get Up”, which provided the drum track and also formed the basis for the famous breakdown featuring a slide whistle. Parliament-Funkadelic legend Bootsy Collins provided guest vocals, and the rap is provided by Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest.

“Stand by Me” is a song, originally performed by American singer-songwriter Ben E. King, and written by King, Jerry Leiber, and Mike Stoller. According to King, the title is derived from, and was inspired by, a spiritual written by Sam Cooke and J. W. Alexander called “Stand by Me Father,” recorded by the Soul Stirrers with Johnnie Taylor singing lead.

The third line of the second verse of the former work derives from Psalms 46:2c. There have been over 400 recorded versions of the song, performed by many artists. It was featured on the soundtrack of the 1986 film Stand by Me, and a corresponding music video was released to promote the film.

In 2012, it was estimated that the song’s royalties had topped £17 million, making it the sixth highest earning song as of that time. 50% of the royalties were paid to King.

“Perfect” was the first track Sheeran wrote for his third studio album. The song is a romantic ballad written about his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, whom he knew from school and reconnected with when she was working in New York.

Sheeran revealed that the inspiration for the lyrics came after visiting James Blunt’s house in Ibiza, where the two singers had listened to the rapper Future’s music at six in the morning.

He said: “Barefoot on the grass, dancing to our favorite song, which happened to be Future’s “March Madness”… I booked the studio for the day, and I had that and I was like, right, let me just flesh that out. And the song happened and was sort of finished that day. I knew it was special.”

“Better Man” is a song by British pop singer Robbie Williams, it became the last single from his album Sing When You’re Winning in late 2001. It was only released in Australia, New Zealand and Latin America.

Williams recorded a Spanish version of the song called “Ser Mejor” (“To Be Better”), it was included on the Latin American pressings of his album and was released as a single to radio stations in the Spanish-speaking countries in February 2001.

“Spoonman” is often credited as one of the songs that launched Soundgarden’s career into the mainstream.

“Spoonman” was originally written for the soundtrack to the 1992 film Singles. At this time, Soundgarden, along with fellow alternative rock band Pearl Jam, was working on the soundtrack for the film.

The name was inspired by Artis the Spoonman, a street performer from Santa Cruz, California and later Seattle, Washington, who plays music with a set of spoons. Artis the Spoonman, played a prominent role in the song itself. The final version of the song featured Artis the Spoonman playing his spoons as part of the song’s bridge. Drummer Matt Cameron also plays pots and pans on the song.

It is his first single outside of the boy band One Direction. Released on 7 April 2017, by Erskine and Columbia Records, it was written by Styles, Ryan Nasci, Mitch Rowland and its producers Jeff Bhasker, Tyler Johnson, and Alex Salibian.

The song is a pop rock, soft rock, piano ballad. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Styles stated, “The song is written from a point of view as if a mother was giving birth to a child and there’s a complication. The mother is told, ‘The child is fine, but you’re not going to make it.’ The mother has five minutes to tell the child, ‘Go forth and conquer.’
