Sign of the Times” is the debut solo single by English singer and songwriter Harry Styles for his self-titled debut studio album. It is Styles’ first single outside of the boy band One Direction. Release date: 7 April 2017.

The song is a pop rock,[1] soft rock, piano ballad.[12] According to a Billboard writer, it “folds in psychedelic soul, indie rock and spacey pop.”[13] The power ballad shows influences from British rock from the early 1970s.[14] In an interview with Rolling Stone he stated, “The song is written from a point of view as if a mother was giving birth to a child and there’s a complication. The mother is told, ‘The child is fine, but you’re not going to make it.’ The mother has five minutes to tell the child, ‘Go forth and conquer.'”

“Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” is a song by English singer Adele from her third studio album, 25 (2015). The song was released to digital formats on 16 May 2016.

“Send My Love” is a pop song with an uptempo, rhythmic sound, with the singer describing it as a “happy you’re gone” song dedicated to an ex-boyfriend.

“Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” is a pop song,[6][7][8] with a “subdued, spliced electronic pulse,”[9] and was considered one of the few up-tempo tracks on the album, along with “Water Under the Bridge“.[10][6] It has “a bit of a calypso vibe,”[2] and is “built around an almost African-sounding guitar lick.”[3] Its sound was noted to have a different rhythm “to distinguish the track from the rest of the record.”[9] The “upbeat, poppy, rhythmic”[11] sound of “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)”, has been compared to Swift’s work,[12][13] most prominently from her album 1989 (2014).[14] It starts with “a stray studio comment from Adele — ‘Just the guitar. O.K., cool’ — before about a minute of acoustic guitar” and “hand-played percussion.”[7] Later, “the thickly layered harmony vocals and fuller arrangement arrive,”

“Send My Love” managed to appear on various international charts following the release of 25; following its release as a single, it has so far peaked at number 5 in the UK, number 8 in the US and number 10 in Canada.

The video received a nomination for Best Visual Effects at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
